Wedding Open Dancing - My Favorite Part

As a wedding professional I have had the pleasure to attend so many beautiful events and weddings. As a Day of Wedding Coordinator I also get the privilege to be a part of every aspect of a couples big day. All the before planning, all the details or the small moving parts they all come together to create a well thought and memorable day.

After all the details are executed my favorite part begins…the unplanned, no details part of the timeline. The OPEN DANCING at the reception.

Event vendors often have a favorite part of the wedding. Some say when the bride/groom walk down the aisle, others say the first kiss, the parent son/daughter dance, dinner time you get the point. My personal favorite is when all the scheduled activities are completed and the couple hits that dance floor! When the couple is on the dance floor so are the guests and that energy hits hard and it’s contagious! You will usually find me doing a few things during this time…stepping outside to get some fresh air, making sure the venue looks clean and tidy and then I head back inside the venue to do a little “clean up dancing” while helping to clear tables and make sure my couple is good to go.

Your guests may also need a little break to step outside. This is where having access to patio or garden area can really increase the enjoyment of your reception. If you can even having the bar located just outside the reception and dance floor space works really well. That way you and your guest can be sure to dance the night away, but also be able to take a break if needed.

One of our earlier blog posts talks about Yard Games, this is where these can also come into play during your reception time.

With Love,

Allison
